Ecolution IndustriesGrowing Energy Independence

Ecolution Industries Is a Locally owned Electrical Contracting Business on the Sunshine Coast, Specialising in all aspects of Electrical with a special focus on Solar and Renewable Energy.

About Ecolution Industries

Ecolution Industries was founded in early 2012 by a young Sunshine Coast local with big ideas and the clear intent to offset the current excessive emissions and waste created by the electrical and power supply industry by way of renewable energy and carbon offsetting. The team at Ecolution Industries have a very keen focus on minimizing the harmful effects of emissions from the electrical and power industry on our environment. Like a lot of reputable solar installers, our team started in the electrical industry and have observed many of the dirty ethics of other providers over the years.

Since its inception, Ecolution Industries has taken part in over a thousand residential solar installations as well as many commercial solar implementations ranging from 15kW up to 100kW with arrays consisting of up to 400 individual panels. Ecolution Industries main focus has always been renewable energy and energy efficiency. Being that we are based on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, we believe that solar and storage of solar production is the future for an area with this kind of geological advantage. This has lead us to incorporate solar as our main technological focus within the renewable field and are now significantly investing time and resources into researching, designing and implementing hybrid battery storage systems that are only just now hitting the market in a viable form

Installing Solar at your property is a no-brainer.  With the cost of electricity sky-rocketing and Australia having an incredibly compliant climate, Solar is a means by which we can offset our carbon footprint and reduce our electricity bills in one easy step.  Although panels are getting cheaper, government rebates are slowly reducing year by year.  We don’t have to twist your arm here!

Solar electricity is one way to power your home or business that benefits the environment. There are no direct greenhouse gas emissions because the electricity is made from sunlight rather than burning fossil fuels.

Sunlight is a renewable energy source, meaning we will never run out of it. Coal and gas are fossil fuels and will eventually run out. And in our sunny state there’s plenty of sunshine all year round.

Once you install solar panels on your roof, they convert sunlight into electricity cleanly and quietly.

Ecolution Industries specialises in the installation and upgrading of PV solar cells. You may have an expanding family or have had air-conditioning installed and want to further offset your power consumption. We can work with you to explore the most cost effective solution to your requirements.

Contact our team to discuss your current power usage so that we can design a system that best suits your needs. We will provide you with images of where the panels will be best located on your roof to maximise your output whilst still maintaining the best possible aesthetics.

When ultraviolet rays in sunlight passes through the PV cells in a solar panel electrons are knocked loose and move around. With a little electronic wizardry these loose electrons are captured and oriented to move in the same direction around a circuit. This flow of electrons creates an electric current.

By connecting many PV cells to each other in a panel and wiring a number of panels together (called an array), the flow of electrons produces direct current (DC) electricity. The more panels in an array, the more electricity is made.

In our homes and businesses we use 240 volt alternating current (AC) electricity. An inverter is used to convert the DC electricity, from the array, to AC which the majority of household appliances use. Simple!!

Solar power is in great demand and around one in four homes already has it in regional Queensland. If you decide to sell or rent out your home or business premises, a solar photovoltaic (PV) system is a popular feature and may add market value.

Nothing is perfect, when there is less sunlight, there is a reduction in output, we canny break the laws of physics!.  Queensland has an abundance of sun however, both in the Summer and Winter, since photovoltaic (PV) cells work buy converting light (not heat) to electricity, as long as there is light the solar array will work (albeit at reduced efficiency during Winter or on cloudy days).

Your solar array will be designed to maximise on sunlight.  You will generally be advised to have more panels in your system than your inverter can handle.  Although this sounds odd, it is set up so that during Winter, the output matches the maximum output of the inverter even though during Summer the maximum possible output is exceeded.  The output in Summer, however, last longer due to the nature of the power curve (bell).   Make sense? ask for a pictorial explanation.

The Australian Government offers financial incentives through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme, where you are issued with tradable certificates for eligible solar PV systems. The Queensland Government’s regional feed-in tariff pays eligible customers for electricity generated and exported to the grid from their solar PV system. Ecolution Industries will organise the rebate for you. The value will be deducted from your system and feature on your quote.

No, in the interest of safety, your solar system will automatically be turned off and reset when the grid power is restored.

Solar panels, irrespective of brand and quality are protected by a layer of hardened glass, in the majority of cases.  This glass is there to protect the delicate silica wafers that comprise the electrical component of the panel.  As a guide, LG panels are rated to withstand impacts from objects up to 35mm in diameter.  As a guide, a standard golfball if approximately 43mm.  Should an impact occur from an object larger than this, visible fractures may occur.

Effected panels may show crazing or even shattered areas of the panel.  However, manufacturers have stated that even smaller impacts may result in “micro cracks”, invisible to the naked eye, which can reduce the efficiency and performance of the panel and it’s respective lifespan (What are Micro Cracks).  In order to determine the presence of such micro cracks it has been suggested that Infra Red imaging technology be used to establish the extent of the damage.  Ecolution Industries are a trusted and well established CEC accredited solar provider who can help in diagnosing faults and rectifying any of the problems listed above.  If you believe that your solar array may have been affected, please give us a call on 0403 766 685 to arrange an inspection by our technical team.

What are Micro Cracks

This has always been a topic of hot debate and anticipation.  Ecolution Industries, as with many other installers have opted to sway clients away from batteries in the last few years.  We truely care about our clients and rather than sell what we can just to make a quick buck, we preferred to advise against this costly addition to your system since payback times would be regarded as finically detrimental.

However, we have been watching the market with a keen interest and now see that things are changing!!  New developments in how the future of how energy may be distributed have indicated that there may come a time where individual households may become, in essence, energy freelancers.  This could mean that you may eventually be able to charge a growing number of companies for the energy you supply.

Although this is still very much in it’s infancy, we have now made the decision to tentatively encourage the purchase of battery installations.

At the present time, a battery will, at the very least, be able to cover that surge of usage when most people get dinner on yet the light levels have dropped to a point where we would now be using power from the grid.
